It's based on a personal level. There is no straight answer. Some of it has to do wit family, and some of it has to do with your personal feeling towards something.

In my experience, spiritual usually means that they believe in a concept like yin and yang or something along those lines.

There not being a straight answer does not make it sound any less wishy washy or vapid.

Would it be possible for these "spiritual connections" simply be connections? What makes them spiritual?

Sure. But that still doesn't fall under the category of religion, which is to practice a specific belief for the benefit of being religious. You're proving my point.

I feel like you two are just grouping them together like they are one in the same. The main reason I make the distinction is mostly to say that I don't attend church every Sunday or believe in the man made constructs related to religion(ie. holy texts, offerings)

No you're just willfully misinterpreting what I'm saying. Spiritual or religious, people who say "I'm spiritual but not religious" are pretentious twats for personal reasons.

So...spiritual connections aren't spiritual at all then. Got it.

Also, if you believe in a Christian God but don't go to church every Sunday, you are still religious. **** outta here with that ish.

No, you said "could it", and I said it could. Doesn't negate the fact that spiritual connections are still spiritual. You asked me a specific question. But, the point you were trying to make was that it was in the same realm as religion, and it's not.

Okay okay, that's just your personal experience with people that say it. That's fine but I am saying there is a difference though.

No, if you believe in a Christian God but don't go to church you aren't practicing your religion so you aren't religious.

Well, he's right. I still don't understand the humor. You're not religious if you don't practice your religion.
