Absolutely. One thing we did a few years ago is we had our house re-done to be completely electric. No gas. That means our new water heater can also be accessed by a spigot in case we need drinking water. We also have a lot of canned goods, etc. We have our "earthquake bag", too, which has all our passports, medical insurance cards, and a stack of cash. Just in case...

Ya, I have a stack of cash in $10 bills to barter with if needed. Also have a ton of water that's been cut with a tiny amount of bleach. Just enough to keep it from going bad but still make it healthy to drink. Lots of canned goods along with stuff like crackers, peanut butter, and protein bars. Also have matches, candles, TP, plastic utensils, work boots, utility gloves, and an ax.
The glock and a few hundred rounds goes without saying. I've watched and read enough post disaster stuff to expect the worst of the worst.
Imagine Frowny trolling down your street moaning "Chef Boyardee for the lepers.... Chef Boyardee for the lepers.....".
*BAM* Done with that annoying ****.
