I always thought it was weird as a kid. "Congratulations, you did that thing that literally everyone else has done. Good job bucko!"

Celebration = getting ****ed up though so I'm not about to complain about it.

I don't mind them, but I don't obsess over them.
I kind of use them as age mile-markers sometimes -
especially decade-based ones - for beginnings and/or
endings of projects. I'll be entering my seventh decade
next year and so my mind is filled with things to start/end.

And at my age, every year is a celebration. Lots of people have died from natural causes who've been younger than me.

My goal is to make it to May 28th, 2033. That would be me and Linny's 50th wedding anniversary.
