Been busy the last few days. For my first-ever home cooking experience, I cooked homemade mac 'n cheese with sharp cheddar and mozzarella and baked a pepper-jack quiche with meal-sized frittatas. It felt great, and now I have several weeks of meals ready for the freezer.

And this morning I realized that I had some spare fabric lying about so I prepped curtain panels to finally dress the windows of the french doors to my home. I'll stitch the seams shortly, but here's how they look so far. (The room really needed it!)

What have you been doing up until now? Eating out a lot or just having someone else do the cooking?

Right now, I'm trying to finish up the drawings for an addition to one of our steel fabrication shops that our owner had approached me to do. We'll need to take these to the county board for approval so we can start construction asap. Hey, it's not the Guggenheim, but George Costanza would still be proud.

Here's a prelim concept render:

Dam all these other pesky jobs that actually generate money, I'm doing this for George.

This morning, I stopped at my daughters Cafe for something to eat/drink on my way in to work (since she left before me this morning, I knew she'd be there). She made me a Strawberry, Blueberry, and Banana smoothie, which was probably the best smoothie I'd ever had. I got to thinking... that moment of inception over two decades ago has led me to this moment in time. I'm drinking the best smoothie I've ever tasted made from something I had created and nurtured because I chose to become a father.

Life is weird sometimes.
