I was lucky and had the realization of how selfish it was. I've done plenty of stupid sh*t since then but if you wait long enough, you sober up. I'm not so important to where I'd risk somebody else's life because I don't want to wait.

I’m embarking on a fun new adventure in my home. To date, three close friends have recommended the hobby of fish for their beauty and psychological benefits. After the third recommendation, I decided to take a peek at Craigslist and found a serendipitous surprise.

A gentleman just a mile from my door has had over 100 tanks in his life and is liquidating his collection to move out of state. He gave me not only a great price on a tank, but set me up with all the supplies I’d need, delivered it right to my dining room, and offered his expertise for any questions I have going forward.

I picked up a 45-gallon fish tank with the following accessories:
  • Vintage wood stand
  • Daytime and Nighttime LED lighting hoods
  • Heater
  • Dual Air Pump
  • Air Line
  • Aqua-Tech Power Filter
  • Air Stone for bubbles
  • My choice of plants and ornaments
  • 20-ft hose faucet siphon and a backup manual siphon
  • Multi Color Gravel
  • Algae Scrub Brush
  • Fish Net
  • Brand New Background Scenery
  • and Ick Away

Next week I’ll get started. Should be fun!

I noticed it from about 23. When I started I was 17 though and could get away with more. Not major stuff, just things like lifting heavy and not having to ease my way into it with lighter weights in previous weeks. Then when I was ill and got back into it at 23 I felt the difference.

Shoulders are the easiest things to injure as well, everyone thinks it won't happen to them until it does. I've had three injuries, shoulder, wrist and forearm, plus shin splints from running.

Never got anything from squats though but I have a massive fear about that, snapping spine/rupturing ACL/dropping the barbell on my neck... So I always use light weight and high rep.
