Parents and I stopped at the new restaurant down in this hamlet I live down the road from. Well, I should say a previously existing restaurant with new management and thus a new menu. I had lobster macaroni and cheese for some reason even though I don't like lobster. Funnily enough, after eating it, I still don't like lobster.

I hadn't drank in forever. Had maybe 10 drinks last night and woke up without a hangover. Very surprising. Got my son tonight. Took him to eat at the local Mexican restaurant.

QUESTION: Is tipping etiquette different at Mexican restaurants than at other places? I assume the employees are all illegal immigrants, so are they working SOLELY on tips? Because people tend to leave HUGE tips at these places.

But we had shitty service. Had to wait around to be seated, even though they weren't busy. Both of our drink orders were wrong. Part of my meal was missing [didn't match the menu, so I had to ask for the rest of it] and we were seated next to a crying baby.

So, fuck 'em. No tip this time.

Also, my grandma is still hanging in there. She's been in the ICU with stomach cancer, liver failure and fluid on her lungs.

That's it, close the borders!

ftr I think most Mexican places divide the tips up with kitchen staff and everyone

Speaking of tipping, what with the new thing at fast food places where they turn the register screen towards you and give you the option to add a tip to your order? Tips are suppose to be about service. Punching a few keys on a screen is not exactly service. Same thing is happening when you order take out online.

**** off, neo-liberal scum. If you don't value us then you can make your own damn food.

I tip generously anywhere I go. If the service is bad I tell them so, but most of the time it's not.

Also lmao @ the assumption Mexican restaurant employees are all undocumented

I'd tip regardless. Even if they suck they still gotta pay rent and it's not gonna make me feel like a better person for giving them the shaft.

Yup. I know people who don't tip at a buffet 'cause "I did all the serving."
Really, asshole? Someone had to initially order and then make your damn food -
plus had to clean up after your nasty ass.

Actually, since I don't really eat fast food, I'm more inclined to tip by the hour -
how much time did I take up at your table - so the tips are larger than normal.
