Fights are no fun. It is usually a lose/lose situation. You win the fight, but go to jail. Or your opponent comes back later and tries to murder you. You never know what is going on inside another person's head.

That is why sanctioned fights like MMA and boxing are such a good thing. They provide a [relatively] safe outlet for aggression.
