What more of a reason do you need than it's something that needs to be done? I don't like cleaning the toilet, but it's necessary and should be done correctly. The general lack of consideration for contributing to the society you benefit from is a really ****ty attitude that a lot of people have.

I believe there’s a clear implication there that I would be less exploited if they stole my thoughts.

Shame on me. You're right. :shycouch:

it RAISES the question.

So you want doctors to clean toilets between surgeries cause it's their turn? As I said, seems silly and counter productive. The toilet people can take turns.

is that a controversial opinion to you?

Yes. Is financial exploitation the only thing you're considering? Because when you have a high profile job like that you often have to make moral compromises and put yourself in a position to be exploited or end your career.

When I was a caregiver for the disabled I literally cleaned out adult asscracks after they defecated. I took the attitude that it was the most important work being done on earth and was meticulous about doing it as clean and gently and as close to perfection as I could manage. I wasn’t in it for the money.

That was the right attitude to have, since it's about the safety and well-being of people who cannot care for themselves.

I disagree. A lawyer, at least in a firm, isn’t even allowed to keep their own thoughts. Plus, they’re enslaved to their student loans. I thought about law school. It’s a ****ing racket. I have a better life riding my bike and cutting fish.

Yeah. Thank you. I can honestly look back and know I never cut corners or made little snarky remarks or anything like that. I never did anything any different than I would have if they had had family looking on.
