Is he though? Or does he actually physically suffer because he doggedly refuses to compromise his character? He’s as smart as you but you don’t have to compete with him in the job market. Why is that? His day in day out resistance to social climbing is actually a burden he carries for all other workers even if it goes completely unacknowledged or even more likely is met with scorn and derision.

I think we're just privileged white people bandying our political theories about tbh. There's very real conclusions to come to but so long as we're privileged white people just kinda saying things it's all kinda meaningless. I've never helped a black person in my life to be perfectly honest.

I sacrificed a lot of job security and cushiness pushing incessantly for fair allocation of funds to disenfranchised students (mostly black) with admin, school board, superintendent and staff definitely with the full understanding that I was alienating people who controlled my livelihood.

And much younger I did a bunch of volunteer **** like food not bombs and literacy action - anti-military **** in college - that stuff isn’t sacrificial but I put time and energy into it

Do you think anybody cared? Do you think anybody was made wealthier for your sacrifice? Or do you think you just felt like you had integrity?

I hope somebody benefited from it but do you think it was really any more beneficial than putting out your recycling on recycling days?Wait wut? What is this now? My grandfather was a surgeon. His brother owns several McDonalds in New York. They both put me through military school. I am the only person in my family not to go to college because I just avoided the entire enterprise (not including my uncle who's just fooling himself that he's going to college), otherwise I would have had family to put me through college. My mother might not be rich but she's still had plenty of help from her parents that no poor blacks would ever have had.

I got mad white privilege trying to help me out. Well, I don't know how much it's still trying to help me out but in theory I've had plenty of white privilege.

I definitely didn’t do anything but lose.

And I don't want to make it sound like what you've done over the years isn't good, I mean simply having people in the world with integrity makes it better. Integrity is pretty rare.
