It's like a little bubble of awesome and I hope there's steps in place at these courses to maintain them so they don't start drifting back into nature.

Ah you mean all the other ones. Yes, the majority of disc golf parks in the US are maintained by city/township/village Park Districts. The business plan is that when you put in a disc golf course, you generate revenue through the surrounding business's by the increased traffic coming through the immediate area. As far as drinking beer and smoking pot, it's usually ok if you're being a responsible person about it. I've never been hassled by police in my years of playing, and have even gotten friendly waves from a few officers as they drove by.

It is a little bubble of awesome, actually. Nice way to put it.

I use to have the inability to imagine people dancing to Jazz, but once you see it, it can't unseen. It will destroy all prior misconceptions.

The "rangers" are usually just stoner disc golf people anyway so they don't give a **** so long as you're not littering or drawing attention to your shenanigans. I've smoked with those guys before and they're chill af. Disc golf has its own slacker culture of sorts and we'll be damned if we let things like the law get in the way of harmless enjoyment of the outdoors.

The course I went to was a bit littered but this is New Jersey and we're all pretty disgusting so I wasn't surprised. We picked up what we could.

Well I liked it a lot. I wanna go back. It's like going for a hike with mini-games.

That's basically how everyone reacts. It's a sport you don't even have to be into to love.
