i'm just scared of the house going up before i can get out. it happened so fast last time, and the dry heat/low humidity/high wind conditions are almost exactly the same as in 2017. i wanted a safety barrier against the embers that get thrown ahead - that's how it spread so quickly last time - and my yard is like all redwood droppings, basically all kindling. but then again i've heard even dead redwood needles hold a lot of moisture and aren't as flammable as they look. idk i'm just scared.

So you're just encouraging moss to grow under the leaves and destroy your roof?

i'm not complaining about the trees, but it's like how everyone here gets so excited to see deer whereas where i grew up they're everywhere and everyone views them as rodents lol.

Yes. Dark and damp places attract moss, which is why you need to clean the leaves off your roof because it will grow into the roof itself and destroy it.

Pretty sure that she rents though, so **** it.

The Batlord 10-08-2019 04:28 PM

Oh true true. Is there like a security deposit thing for roofs if you're renting a house though? I feel like you letting the roof disintegrate will still cost you money.

Dont worry about the moss. Youll be under water in 100 years so it doesnt matter.

yeah i'm not responsible for this roof and therefore only care about it inasmuch as to not want it to catch fire while i am inside of it.
