Idk he bought one then sold it after a bit. pretty sure it was used. And he was mooching off a chick so he didn't really have bills. And he doesn't pay taxes when he works.

as long as you show your work, you can get partial credit even for a totally wrong answer like a "I see where you were going with that, but no" type of deal
It’s just laziness for American teachers to only check if you got the exact number at the end. The math teachers I knew in Japan (two’s a small sample size but that’s what I got) when we talked about how they assessed the progress of their students it was all about demonstrating that you understood the process. I talked to them about it after saw how complicated the **** they were doing in 9th grade was. They could dig much deeper into it conceptually because they didn’t obsess over trivial mistakes like American teachers tend to do. As it moves along being able to solve the problems correctly without making small errors does separate advanced students from the pack even in Japan, especially since it’s so competitive but the typical person who’s not great at it understands it far better than Americans in large part because of the way they approach the instruction early on.

there's usually multiple ways to solve a problem, but I always go for the one that just requires memorizing a formula, it always feels kinda like cheating but whatevs
Hell yeah. Otherwise your brain is going to start second quessing itself and playing tricks on you.

my professor was explaining to me that advanced algebra stops using numbers anyway

the point is to be able to come up with the formulas yourself which you do with variables

I wonder how many more IQ points I’d need to get to that level

It sounds way more magical than it is, it's basically the first step you take when you go study physics

Are you saying I’m stupid?

No, I'm saying what Elph is talking about turns out to be easier than it sounds and you could get to that level without the extra IQ points
