It’s maddening how poor EVERYONE’s taste in music is and I get that it feels like a litmus test to judge the depth of their being but in actuality the only thing it establishes is that have poor taste in music. Btw, my litmus taste for music is free jazz and you would fail. I’d still try to find our common ground and leave it at that but I’d know.

As for the cig complaint, at a party, probably liberal fascism.

Can’t you find more interesting parties?

If I was at a party and someone switched off the club bangers to put on some Green Day, I'd be pretty annoyed too.

Post the song. MB will keep you honest I really doubt its as party appropriate as you think it is.

Also, wtf is it about music that gives enthusiasts this sense of superiority? Big yikes.

I listen to a lot of music for lyrics.. OH has a great appreciation for the technical side.. and some people love music for the energy it gives them to dance/party.. why is one appreciation superior to the other? You dont have to know a lot about music itself to be able to say "i love music" and you dont have to love it for a specific thing for it to be genuine or valid.

I think everyone here realizes we are on dodgy ground when trying to rank one musical taste as superior to another, so a healthy dose of tolerance is the best approach, as per OH :-

Even worse is that you tried to find something to fit instead of using that opportunity to play the most obnoxious thing you can think of.
