I’m pretty sure Wolf was just being snarky with the stimulate the economy thing.

But in general the narrative that you’re helping out by buying **** is pretty funny

Supporting local business in general is a joke too

Like they’re not greedy selfish *******s just because they’re “local”

I mean this whole "help the local economy" thing is literally just capitalist propaganda to prop up the current system. It's desperate and weak propaganda that only exists because mid-level capitalism believes it cares about the local economy but is essentially still just an attempt to stop anything from changing by trying to tie you emotionally to your local community.

I like my local economy but w/e.

I'm sure you do, but I'm sure the apparatus built around your local economy that profits from it cares much more about continued production than any of you actually being able to feed yourselves or not suffocate on your own pneumonia.

I think I'm going to order some Burger King today.

I've seen my city government pushing hard to expand the food banks and local support for people who are unemployed, disabled, old, etc. They don't make a dime from that kind of thing as far as I can tell.

Kind of need a good economy for the government to afford it.

Yep. They're intertwined at least here at the local level. The government pushes to help local businesses, and those businesses push to make people aware of stuff going on with the city.

It's important to still find ways to support all of your favorite local prostitutes. Buy a few months of their onlyfans.

Exactly how much of that local government action supports chain businesses?
