No, he had some health issues after suffering a heart attack a few years back. He was doing dialysis 3 times a week and had a port and all that, but he seemed healthy when I was there a few days ago. His daughter texted me yesterday that he went into sceptic shock and was bleeding somewhere internally. I raced to the hospital only to be turned away because I wasn't immediate family due to COVID restrictions. I sat in the parking lot and facetimed with him thanks to help from his daughter. At least I got to tell him I loved him before he passed a few hours later. There was nothing they could do for him at that point.

I appreciate thee condolences jaydub. Means a lot.

Yeah the covid restrictions are making hospitals even more of a sterile dystopian nightmare than they usually are

My brother's dad's wife is in the hospital rn cause of some serious infection in her stomach. Could be life threatening... She is an alcoholic and has done serious damage to her stomach by never eating much and always drinking. He can't go see her cause of the covid restrictions. He can't even get a hold of her doctor to get a proper analysis of the situation cause the doctor always says come in at 10 and he works in the daytime... Can't get a hold of him by phone.. it's bleak as hell and really frustrating.. I feel bad for him.

Alright I'm not any good at condolences but as someone with few friends I'm terrified of losing the ones I do have and this song has always hit me hard because of that. Maybe keep it in the backpocket for later when this isn't so raw but... yeah I think it's beautiful and maybe it'll be cathartic at some point. I don't know.

So sorry to hear that you've lost such a close friend, Plankton.

Hanna's hurting too. She used to go with me to his house for our jam sessions and sometimes play drums. He called her the Little Metronome. The text she sent me last night about her friendship with him is very touching and heartwarming. He was a big part of our little family.
I was afraid of that. Send her our love and tell her we're all thinking of both of you. Maybe some time down the line you can compose a tribute to him; right now I know that's the furthest thing from your thoughts. Will you get to go to the funeral at least? We're locked down here still (probably till March) so it's doubly hard for anyone who has someone who passes. I know you said you got to say goodbye, in person, which is something to be thankful for, so at least if you don't get to pay your respects you've already done that. Still, I hope you get to attend, if you want to. It must hurt like hell, even worse in these times.

Like I say, cliche though it is, stay strong. If nothing else, Hannah needs you, big man.

Sending love your way.
