I'll also bring my Martin so we can have a drunken sing-a-long at some point.

It's a long day living in Reseda
There's a freeway runnin' through the yard
And I'm a bad boy 'cos I don't even miss her
I'm a bad boy for breakin' her heart

And I'm free, free fallin'
Yeah I'm free, free fallin'

I was at one of my singers house last night, and tried playing Hotel Cali on the uke from memory (among other tunes). Went pretty good. So, you'd have to deal with my Uke-ness.

As we speak.

I'm thinkin about wearing jorts over em.

EPOCH6 12-13-2014 12:50 PM

The rig has been completed.

Thursday night I found some busta in the city selling a 50W MESA Boogie Single Rectifier Solo Head for $800 ($400 off retail price). Friday evening our bass player tipped me off on some one-legged British guy with a small music shop in a nearby town selling a closed back Laney 2x12 cab for $350. I picked that **** up real quick real ick, hauled it all up to Ken's mountain top lab, stacked em up, the planets aligned, and it sounded ****ing monstrous. Ultra thick and punchy. My Telecaster, the Single Rec, and the closed back cabinet combine for a massive low end with some serious gut churning southern twang. Sounds unreal paired with our other guitarist's Gibson Les Paul through his MESA Boogie Dual Rectifier / MESA 2x12 cabinet.

It's done. I can finally stop spending money.

Spoiler for Nightmare I had last night:
I just remembered a nightmare I had last night. I have spent the last thirty minutes trying to recall what it was about. I remember some evil creatures that appear in darkness and if you stood too long in the darkness they would get you. It sounds cliche and I don’t remember what these foes are, but I remember being very scared of these beings. That sensation of fear was so strong I can remember it clearly even now, and I almost feel relieved it was just a dream.

I remember being outside in a forest, and I’m still shaky on the details, but I think this darkness appears suddenly, like some kind of metaphorical fog. I think I’m with a few other people, and we come across a dead body lying on the ground. I think I remember returning to some building, like a chateau..or a large dormitory **** if I know, and then I’m being chased by one of these creatures. If I was to rate how afraid I was at this point on a scale of 1-10 it would be a 9.

I don’t know what happens next but then I’m suddenly somewhere else eating food with some of my real life friends in some kind of shopping mall type structure, and then suddenly the darkness appears there too and we have to leave. I remember there’s a couple hundred people in this building, and I remember trying to leave but getting caught in the darkness. I don’t think I die, I remember not being concerned.

This next part is ****ed up. I’m in an elevator, in some old abandoned building heading down to the basement. Why the **** would I go down there? Maybe this story is out of chronological order…I don’t know. Either way, I reach the bottom, and I know there's the evil brings down here, because I see them.
That’s it, that’s all I remember. Wait, what the ****? Ahh I get it. I think the thing with the elevator is a reference to what I did yesterday. I drove out to a doctor’s appointment yesterday, and I had to use an elevator located at the end of a very long hallway at a time of the day when nobody was there. I get it now. That doesn't explain all this other ****. I definetely wasn't chased by fiends or have a fear of darkness.

I vaguely remember another part of this dream, but I don’t remember the details or where it is.

I suspect that the evil beings are your latent homosexual tendencies, and that you don't want to admit to them, so you feel that they are chasing you.

I'm pretty good at the uke. We could do a duet. I'll take rhythm, you take lead.

Nice setup, EPOCH6! Weird that there are a lot of guitarists on here, but I'm the only pianist, to my knowledge.

Killer rig Epoch6! Wish I could rock something like that. These days I'm reduced to this:

Love the finish on your telecaster, looks it has the old "ash tray" style bridge too, what model is it?

Frownland 12-13-2014 01:16 PM

That's one hell of a deal EPOCH6, glad to hear it works well in your group dynamic as well. My friend got a Vox once (I forget what type) but it didn't sound good with mine and our bassist's gear no matter how we ****ed with our tone. The struggle is real.

Zombie kid is a fantastic pianist, and I play as well (not classically trained, though).

I can play piano too. Not real fluent at it (like ZK), but I can hold my own.

You two aren't making things any easier for my wallet. I've been waiting to order a custom Tele from DNA, and need to get through Xmas, and my daughters birthday coming up right after. Got the jones pretty bad now, thnx.

In the meantime here's the tone I'll be going for (starting at 1:57 through the solo):

WWWP 12-13-2014 05:13 PM

Uke is entirely acceptable.

Pet_Sounds 12-13-2014 05:16 PM

I once saw (and heard) a ukulele group of about sixty elementary school kids perform. Needless to say, it wasn't an eargasm.

GuD 12-13-2014 05:21 PM

Overslept. Toilet overflowed again thanks to useless stupid roommate who was suspiciously absent. Cleaned up ****water for a half hour. 35 minutes late to work after getting changed, taking a morning shower (usually shower before bed to save time), and busting ass skateboarding down in like half the usual time. Pretty busy day at work but we handled it well. Pretty sure I definitely have a crush on my coworker Sonya. She listens to rad garage rock, is vegan, and is hella pretty. It's been awkward. For me, anyways. Ugh..

Zhanteimi 12-13-2014 05:35 PM

Drank too much celebrating homecoming of my son.

ladyislingering 12-13-2014 06:22 PM

today one of my coworkers (who is my sister's age) cried on my shoulder for a good solid 10 minutes because her cat is very ill and the vet situation is kind of sketchy.

this gathered some sort of kind energy because later in the day, my favorite liquor wasn't in the case at the grocery, so I had a kind young man check the stockroom. I was delighted to find that he brought out exactly what I was hoping for.

life's good.
