That sucks, Mindy, it sounds like when you were hit/nearly hit you began experiencing “hyper-vigilance,” which is common with PTSD. Your system kind of gets shocked into an adrenal response, wherein all your senses are heightened and you go into combat mode, for want of a better word.

How are you feeling now?

Thanks Stevie, Yeah I thought about it with my parents and they were shocked the lady didn't stop and see if I was okay. Only my legs were hit as I jumped. And I'm fine, but yeah going into Dollar General right away was probably too much. I was already there though too. Still shocked from it alil. They have had other hit n runs in this area at night so that triggered the whole out to kill me mode

You wouldn't know any better than I would so we're both lobbing opinions into the dark but seeing unconnected events as evidence of a conspiracy theory you have no reason to think even exists and ascribing psychic connection between the people you're suspicious of doesn't sound unlike schizophrenia when interpreted through a god damn internet post where you don't know anything. All you're saying is don't be mean, which I reject.

I’m saying don’t be so flippant with mental health.

I'll bet - sounds like it was a really scary experience. So sorry you had to go through that. And I'm glad your reflexes quickly flexed you out of harm's way and you weren't seriously hurt. Take care, Mindful. :wavey:

The stupidity of some people gets to me...
  • Man comes to the shop an hour before we open looking to sell speakers. I don't buy speakers. My busines partner does. I tell him to come back when we open in an hour (I'd like to eat my lunch in peace).
  • He says he'll wait. He then knocks on the door three times asking when my partner will be here. -_-
  • He leaves five minutes before we open. Dan comes in five minutes later. This was Sunday.
  • Last night, the same man comes in at 5:55pm (we close at 6) and asks to see Dan. I tell him he has left for the day. This dude is not happy about that. I point out that we are basically closed and that he needs to come by during working business hours if he wants to do business. I give him a card and tell him to call before he shows up to ensure Dan is here.
  • Dude just showed up, without calling, and is furious that Dan is not here (he's on a house call he received this morning). I'm done. I told him we won't be buying the speakers. He actually spit at my feet. I told him to never come back.

This job sometimes tests my ability to not commit crimes of violence.

That reminds me of when I worked at a record store, this was 1981. A guy kept calling asking if we had May Blitz. Of course, we didn't (used record store, my boss bought whatever people brought in). Poor guy, he sounded pretty burned out

rostasi 03-02-2022 10:21 AM

Yea, May Blitz ... but why would a used record store, "of course," not have an album by them?
The albums would've been at least a decade old by then (?)
