I got a proper cheese slicer for the first time and holy **** what a difference. I've always enjoyed sliced havarti, and I slice it thin as I can with a knife... but imagine delicate PETALS of cheese, fluttered over an artichoke pasta. Absolute game changer of a utensil. Melt in your mouth cheese thickness.

Maybe it's because that utensil was invented here, but the thought of someone not having one and taking years into adulthood before they get one is somewhat alien. Every kitchen has at least one here. As soon as you move out, you get your own.
