I'm a pretty gross guy, but somehow that snuck by under the radar and made me cringe.

Yeah I was surprised you didn't make that simple connection.

Well of course I did. I just like erections better than feces.

Went fishing at three different places over the weekend.... didn't catch a single goddamn fish.

Always fun to zoom around on the dinghy though

Cut my vacation short by a day since the boss needed some things done today. I had no reason to stay up in Michigan, and it was supposed to rain today anyway. Beautiful weather while I was there though. We had a great show. We played from 7pm until just after midnight with a small break in the middle. I'm surprised my injured wrist made it through all that. We had absolutely no practice before hand but the talented people I was playing with knew how to handle it. The new Carvin played like butter, making it's debut for the first time in my hands in a live setting. Lots of people dancing, and having a great time on Saturday night, and on Sunday morning when I went down to the main hall for some coffee, I heard a few people praising our performance. One fella (who was pretty much a true blue, dyed in the wool Cowboy) took a double take at me and said "Hey! Aint you one a the fellers that was pickin on that geetar last night?" I nodded and smiled.

So... what'd I miss while I was gone?

Yesterday I met a dude who wants to jam with my group who has a ****load of equipment including a 13 piece drum set that was owned and signed by Billy ****in Cobham. This is going to be a fun jam session when we go out there today.

One of my favorite drummers! Have a good jam.

Can your new friend play Stratus?

That would be awesome if he could. I've seen him play before at a Guitar Center drum competition and he's definitely got some speed. Not as focused as I'd like but I don't know how he does outside of a solo environment.

Nice.

We (our band) has a friend that used to be a lounge pianist/singer, and can play just about anything you ask him to. He's VERY entertaining when it's just him. He sat in with us one day at practice and couldn't keep time for ****. The last party we had at our practice spot, he was there playing (there's an old Upright piano) and I hopped on the drums to try and get him to keep a steady beat. It helped a little, but he kept faltering. I think he has a bit of OCD or ADD, and it really effects his performance.

Not sure why I'm typing this, but I thought it might be food for thought, since you mentioned that your new friend isn't 'focused'.

Ja I mean an unfocused beat works well for my style of music anyway but well see how it goes. I've seen both sides of the situation you describe, I kind of feel the opposite of your friend because I do far better working off of other musicians than going solo. I guess it makes sense being more if a lead guy (it's why I love playing free jazz, everyone can play lead if they want to make a fun little mess). But I agree that it's best not to put him in a box until I see the whole package.
