Successful record store day. WWWP and I had a really brief but really awesome time shootin' the sh*t over a beer and some records. I drove to SF and hit up about six stores. Amoeba and Stranded were pretty great in SF. 1234Go in Oakland was small but also pretty awesome. Austin still wins but SF is a close second. Yes, that includes my darling New York City.

Here's my haul...

Sonic Youth - Goo
Creepoid - Creepoid - My favorite find. Their website has been out of it for some time.
Sufjan Stevens - Carrie & Lowell
Jerusalem in My Heart - If He Dies, If If If If If If
Cab Calloway - Hi De Ho Man Classics
Buke and Gase - General Dome
Bill Doggett - Prelude to the Blues
Axxa/Abraxaz - A Surprise Floral Necklace
Paul Simon - Live Rhymin'
Duane Eddy -Have "Twangy" Guitar, Will Travel
Fugazi - EP
Abner Jay - The True Story of Abner Jay
Yonatan Gat - Director

Not necessarily. This was really, truly bad. (Not in a fun way) I did not ask who it was. It was Christian country-pop, to make matters worse.

They played LOTS of awful 90s stuff like this, too, which I unfortunately recognized:

(That one isn't as terrible as some of the others. I may have to play them all next time I'm in plug.)

I'm giving myself a $100 budget so I won't be buying a record at every place but it's really fun seeing what kind of record stores certain cities have. So far nothing beats Austin so we'll see.
Amoeba records in Hollywood is hands down the greatest record store of all time. Of. All. Time.

Taller they are the harder they fall.

What Greek Letter Are You ?

"You are Psi. You are not common, yet remarkably powerful. Your hidden talents will one day undoubtedly reveal themselves. Your ideas right now may not always be real or tangible, but one day they will all make sense."
