My guess is the battery too, but I think something's corrupted cause even if the computer is batteryless and plugged into a supply there's still no response. And when I mean no response I mean literally no response, including error codes or something that'd actually be useful in locating the problem.

Power supply issues are usually a quick [relatively] cheap fix. Could be the motor in your hard disc drive.

Again, that's what I'm hoping for. Like I said I'm getting it checked out on Saturday so I'll be giving an update for any hardcore fans of this thrill-ride.
