Just casually tell him you'd let AOC sit on your face while she tries to fix America.

Lucem, you're right, it's silly to talk about what I would or wouldn't do IRL. Glad you brought it up. Maybe you should write an instrumental about it. I recommend a piano paired with a clarinet. With ambient sounds of you hanging from your shower curtain you ****ing failure.

Or recently we got to talking about wildfires in California somehow and he was like "yeah you know that whackjob AOC? She's ****ing insane with that green new deal ****" and I did my absolute best to come across as neutral as I could even though I think AOC is ****ing great.

Then later we're talking about books and he shares his Google Drive of audiobooks with me. Lots of cool **** like Lord of the Rings and Harry Potter....and then I see another folder that contains The Right Side of History by Ben Shapiro. I wanted to puke.

I really don't want to get political at work, it just doesn't seem worth the potential conflict or headache. But this guy can't just keep shoving these opinions at me without repercussion right?! What am I supposed to do
Your taste in literature and lack of love for shotguns aside I’d say with your personality you don’t get off on pissing people off or aggro-conflict so based on you being you I think you should just cordially say something like “I’m actually quite liberal but I think you’re a decent dude but I’d rather not talk politics at work. Maybe we can go for a beer and hash it out for fun some time.”

Then kill him.

The owners kid came at me yesterday to show me the chaos at the capital building on his phone. I told him to get that stupid **** out of my face.

Ended that discussion pretty quick. You just have to be tactful. Like, here, have some tact.

I am definitely being a bitch.
I don’t think so. You’re there to get paid and keep that nice crib you got for you and your fam (not assuming anything about your wife’s income) not to fight pointless political battles that might put your livelihood in danger.

Man there's no way in hell Ian Curtis is even close to as famous as James Brown

I wish there was a way to quantify this to prove it

Cause, like, I have no filter and he'd see that and lose his filter.

I don't think so but this is about snobery and music plebs and what ever insecure elitist ****.

I think it's safe to say most huge music nerds know Ian Curtis.
