Accomplishments and Such.

It occured to me we have no threads to celebrate the things we've achieved or things that we are proud of ourselves for.

Go!

Sooo Im happy I enrolled in KungFu. Im happy I dont have the drive to put opiates in my body during this really terrible time in my life ....I might even take up jogging....If bob can run and smoke like a freight train Im in luck.;)

Lets see, one of my accomplishments was passing my GED. to most ppl i imagine this is a small accomplishment but for a person like me who had a mother that constantly said to him he wouldn't make it past 6 grade AND who flunked 7th grade 3 times cause he hated school, this was quite the accomplishment.

Who's dumb now mom? your little retard boy got the GED you never got!

Considering i never finished highschool in the traditional way cause i ditched school everyday to get high, it's an accomplishment i even have an associate degree as an assistant pharmacist.

I got out of bed today.
Although I'm back in bed now.

Plankton 12-07-2015 07:54 AM

I'm proud I learned spelling, grammar, and punctuation at an early age.

It also fills my heart with joy that I'm in the position to help others that struggle with it.

Yore welcome.

That's usually my routine after a night of heavy drinking. :D

DwnWthVwls 12-07-2015 08:56 AM

I lasted over a year on MB.

Maybe you should.

Well I basically taught myself how to play acoustic guitar. I'm still horrible and hate using a pick to play but, for me I rarely finish anything so yay.

And I got an art award in like the 5th grade I guess. It was for one of those zentangles.

Yay for things.

Mr. Charlie 12-07-2015 01:50 PM

I have zero accomplishments. :)

Which is an accomplishment in itself.

Yay!

YorkeDaddy 12-07-2015 02:18 PM

Graduated high school with honors, was awarded a scholarship to a major university, am taking the GRE this week and will be applying to graduate schools that I will inevitably be accepted to, and on top of that I have managed to be either the sole factor or one of two major contributors on over a dozen original studio albums, most of which I consider to be seriously awesome pieces of work. I think weirdly I'm more proud of the last part than anything before it.

ChelseaDagger 12-07-2015 02:37 PM

I gave birth to a breech baby with zero painkillers/epidural/etc... baby came out butt-first after two (very painful) pushes :D Afterward the hospital staff told me that they don't even train for breech births anymore (except for c-sections of course) and that I was the first person to do it at that hospital in the last sixteen years...

The next day they sent me home and refused to give me painkillers... :finger:

Mr. Charlie 12-07-2015 02:39 PM

^ Wow. Now that's what I call an accomplishment. I've watched a regular birth and that's crazy enough. But a breech birth... wow.

... Because years ago I had a metaphysical vision that I would someday join MB, and that a mysterious oracle would create this thread. I awoke from the vision, aghast that I hadn't really accomplished anything yet. And thus began my journey...

And thank you, Mr. C :)

The Batlord 12-07-2015 02:45 PM

I'm just gonna go with, "Thought it would make the birth more meaningful", or some ****.

It wasn't the first time I had given birth without anything to dull the pain. I had actually not planned on using any meds, but then I found out I was breech so they scheduled me for a c-section. I went into emergency labor the day before my c-section was scheduled. Probably because I was moving (as in, into a different house) that same day. Crazy times

I've learned to love.

The Batlord 12-07-2015 10:53 PM

I've found that hate is a far more useful and rewarding lesson.

Zhanteimi 12-07-2015 11:08 PM

I failed in hate for many years. Time for something different.

The Batlord 12-07-2015 11:13 PM

Then you weren't hating correctly. Don't let happiness get you down.

Chula Vista 12-07-2015 11:36 PM

I'm now a VP. Been working full time and busting ass for the past 38 years. Got kicked out of HS at 16 but eventually made it to 6 figures. Been with the same girl for 36 years. Lasted over a year here. Have flirted with alcoholism for decades and skirted a full blown addiction. Raised 2 great kids even though one of them deals with major demons.

Yippie kiy ya MF'er.

lol, if you don't mind me asking, what did you do.

Frownland 12-08-2015 12:29 AM

I've been told that I taste good.

Lucem Ferre 12-08-2015 12:51 AM

My GED. I dropped out pretty early in high school. I went through this program that was supposed to help struggling youths like me get into school and/or get a job. They helped payed for my GED. I passed it with flying colors and they had the head person there come out to congratulate me because my score was so high and I guess people struggle with that test. She said they'd tutor people for months and they'd fail, never had she seen somebody get that high of a score on their first try. Are people that stupid?

I won 3rd place in this youth art program called "Make A Difference" in Salt Lake City with a song about worshiping Satan. No lie, all true. I find it funny. Got to shake the mayor's hand. My hair was braided into devil horns.

My music. I think how far I've come over the years when it comes to making music is a huge accomplishment to me. I write, produce, perform, mix and master all of my stuff.

I got 100% on my end of year math test in 7th grade. I won a Simpsons poster for getting the best test score of that whole grade in that school. This egotistical bitch had already promised that poster to her little sister. **** her and her little sister. It's funny because I slept through that class and failed it. Actually, I think I got a D in that class, can't remember.

To get kicked out of HS or to eventually earn a good living?

HorribleHumour 12-08-2015 09:37 AM

I just released my first single

Nameless 12-08-2015 10:05 AM

I drive to and from work every day even though I have a panic attack almost every time both ways. That doesn't sound like much but for the last year for whatever reason I am about ready to cry just getting into a car.

And what is up with so many of us not finishing high school?

I actually got kicked out of two. Lasted one year at a Vocational HS and then another 1.5 years at the regular one. You know that classmate that would tell the teacher to **** off if they were being a dick? :wavey:

School.

prisoner437x3y0 12-08-2015 03:00 PM

first male in my family to go to college. Not sure if my soul is really jiving with it.

Next real goal hoping to accomplish (besides one I don't feel the need to bring up anymore lest I start drinking again) would be moving and trying to get entirely new friends/social life without any base to start with.

Seems kinda daunting but could be easy/hard depending on circumstance

should add: got to meet and talk with many of my favorite contemporary artists
got to personally diss members of OFWGKTA while they were trying to pick up hoes. Not very bro like but I was very drunk and like ****ing with these people
