Dead in the water. He doesn't understand analogies.

Hey! I was wondering. Since the "Gerudo" race only consists of women and
part of the Spirit Temple floor plan is shaped like a uterus with fallopian tubes,
why haven't we heard of a Zelda ban from this White Nationalist cult?

Have one of those analogies you're so fond of:
Say there was a bill trying to combat the rising number of hate crimes towards Muslims. If Christianity isn't mentioned in the bill despite hate crimes towards Christians being rare, is it biased towards Christians?

And as I've explained, some of the issues raised are not gendered. Domestic violence is about a 50/50 rate in Canada - so why focus almost entirely on women? You can claim these issues mainly affect women but firstly we need to identify if they are actually problems (wage gap, STEM field participation, political representation), and if they are, do they affect women at a vastly disproportionate rate, justifying an almost complete focus on that one gender?

Also note that I'm not suggesting we need more men in higher education, despite being overtaken by women in recent years. It's not a problem.

No.

Curious, why no? If his stats are true, I don't see how you could take a position that it is not unfair. You may not care or you can make an argument to explain why women need more shelters, but it is certainly not balanced.

Frownland 05-09-2017 07:19 PM

I'm mainly just not about the idea that a bill that benefits women equates to a government mistreating men.

Norway makes circumcision illegal for boys under 16. WHY IS JT GENDERED?

DwnWthVwls 05-09-2017 09:26 PM

O, I'm not equating it with the mistreatment of men, but you can admit it's unbalanced and is an issue worth addressing no? Again, assuming those stats are correct, it seems like there should definitely be more mens shelters.

I'd have to look into what Canada does as a whole, not just with that bill. A standard homeless shelter is essentially a men's shelter in itself. That creates a need for women's shelters because (and I'm sure this will be controversial to some) men are more likely to sexually assault someone than women and that creates an unsafe environment for them.

tl;dr those bitches need a safe space.

I'll just move my edit here since you didn't quote it I assume you missed it.

Edit: You can have underrepresentation and inequality without mistreatment. It's kind of a byproduct of society changing faster than policy/legislation/social support programs.

Frownland 05-09-2017 10:23 PM

I didn't miss it, I just ignored it.

That's definitely true and is kind of the backbone of my own point tbh. Do you think that the uneven ratio of women representatives in Canada is an example of underrepresented but equal? Or are you making a semantic argument about my use of the word mistreatment?

So basically your approach to any debate. At least you finally admit it.

DwnWthVwls 05-09-2017 10:32 PM

No, I think we agree, I was just clarifying. I think MRAs have some valid positions, but it's often presented poorly like the way Goofle does.
