MySpace was actually cool though, sure it was full of cringy emo teens and busy overdesigned customized pages that were complete eyesores and took 30 minutes to load but dammit that gave it character, vastly superior to the conspiracy theory pushing, hate filled boomer hellscape that is Facebook.

I used PimpMySpace to customize my page. It still looked like Homer Simpson designed it but it was kinda neat.
Also, Bat having this for an av was hilarious: https://i.insider.com/4efd9b8b69bedd...jpeg&auto=webp |

I made hip-hop beats on myspace, at that time I ran two hip-hop websites/forums and they were exactly like musicbanter. My beats got to the number one spot in the independent label section. I would fluctuate from number 1 to number 20 and just basically got viral listens. I got credit for the beats in a music course in high school, but it was like a huge deal when I dropped a new beat, wow I am so lame now :o:
Thinking about social media now, once everyone went to Facebook around 2004-2008 ish, there weren't ways to connect old friends from myspace to Facebook. Plus YouTube becoming popular, sharing on facebook's "wall" became more popular than sharing on a myspace 'wall' lol The only thing Facebook has going for it is the connection of people who don't want to start a Twitter, plus its Facebook Marketplace. The Marketplace is top level! |
I stopped using Facebook about a year ago. All I did was bitch and moan about things I seen on Facebook
I use Instagram and Snapchat but I use them far too often for my liking. I point blank refuse to get TikTok because I lose enough time to the other 2. Edit: and from what I can tell TikTok is like crack. |
Phone bad.
