Nah you're just too dumb and/or lazy to figure it out yourself.

I guess you never listened to Jesus the Carpenter.

I don't think this "fake music lover" idea makes any sense. If a person, say, really loves the Rolling Stones, but then turns out to only know that No Satisfaction song... then that's still loving said artist. The "fake music lover" isn't lying when he/she expresses love for an artist. Why can't you just be happy that they appreciate it instead of scoffing at the fact that they don't know everything about it?

This is what elitism looks like.

Because liking one or two hit songs from an artist does not make you a fan of said artist. If you loved an artist you would look much more into that artist to see what else they have to offer. If you only know two songs then you obviously didn't care enough to further your listening on said artist. I know probably 3 or 4 songs by Metallica and I enjoy them. I wouldn't call myself a Metallica fan because I really don't know their catalog. I just enjoy those songs.

With Hopsin, I am much more familiar with his catalog. But out of all of his music I only like a handful of songs. So I wouldn't call myself a Hopsin fan either.

Why this is bothersome to people is because you see somebody wearing a shirt of a band you really enjoy. You go to discuss that band with this person hoping to bond over the band and it turns out that person really doesn't know much from the band. I find it elitism when people expect you to know every little detail on a band or artist, but to be upset over somebody calling them self a fan of an artist when they don't know any of the catalog is understandable.

Complaining about people wearing bandshirts without knowing the bands is dumb though.
If someone thinks a shirt looks good let them wear it.
If you mistakenly tried to bond over it then **** you.

**** you. And every time I wear my Freek Show shirt I tell them it's my favorite Nine Inch Nails album.

I love Yes, Owner of a Lonely Heart is one of my favourite songs.

I have a Cris Williamson LP on my wall, but I've only heard 1 song of hers yet And I love that song. **** me, I'm sucha poser. It would make me much less of an ******* if I disliked that song or didn't even know any songs of hers at all.

I also wear a St. Anger t-shirt sometimes, even though I'm not really into Metallica anymore and I also don't even like the album. Maybe a song or two would be decent if cut down by 2-3 minutes. My parents bought it for me on a vacation so... whatever. It's still a t-shirt.

More and more people listen to music with their eyes rather than their ears nowadays.
