Brushing Your Teeth

Possibly the most dull subject ever, but I'm kinda curious. So, how do you all brush your teeth? Do you brush before eating, or after? Do you use a fancy electric toothbrush, or just a plain 'ol plastic brush? What kind of toothpaste do you use? Do you floss? Etc.

Akai 06-06-2017 10:08 AM

What's ''brushing your teeth''?

Cuthbert 06-06-2017 10:09 AM

Must be an American thing.

I use an electric once a day, and I floss occassionally but more often when there's something in my teeth.

Thanks for maintaining the stereotype fellas.

I gargle isopropyl alcohol and use my finger for my dental hygiene.

****in' americans and their oral hygiene

The Identity Matrix 06-06-2017 04:55 PM

I have an old electric one that I replace the top every couple of months. Twice a day, floss once or twice a week, and when I have stuff in my teeth. I try to avoid drinks that stain teeth.

Goofle 06-06-2017 04:58 PM

Worst poll ever.

Justthefacts 06-06-2017 05:08 PM

You must not brush your teeth.

Oops, you're right, I forgot the 'anal beads' option. Can a mod please fix this?

Zhanteimi 06-06-2017 05:55 PM

When you brush your teeth after eating, make sure you wait at least an half an hour, especially if what you've eaten is acidic.

"Brushing too soon after eating them can damage the enamel in its weakened state."

Goofle 06-06-2017 06:22 PM

You asked about five different questions in the OP. This should not be a poll, it's a straight up discussion my brother.

Oriphiel 06-06-2017 06:29 PM

Goofle is whining about a discussion thread having the audacity to have both discussions and a binary poll meant only to allow people to anonymously necro-bump this thread years from now. Can the mods please fix this?

The Batlord 06-06-2017 06:56 PM

I use spam.

I brush after every meal :)

djchameleon 06-07-2017 06:34 AM

Brush after meals and twice a day. I only really floss when something is stuck in my teeth.

Nah, once in the morning and once at night is pretty golden. Passing out drunk often really throws a stick in the spokes for that night brushing though.

Do you not rinse your mouth after brushing?

Toothpaste mouth isn't a thing for me.

DwnWthVwls 06-07-2017 04:08 PM

Wake up, oil pull for 20-30 mins while i shower and stuff, brush teeth ~2 mins, brush tongue quick, mouthwash ~1 min. Do not eat/drink for ~30 mins. Repeat brush/mouthwash before bed. Sometimes if im off ill brush a 3rd time midday.

Electric toothbrush with flouride as the active ingredient for paste/wash. I heard listerine kills everything including good bacteria from a friend whos a dental assistant so i switched to the flouride mouthwash.

Rinsing with water washes all the good stuff away you just coated your teeth with.

Frownland 06-07-2017 04:27 PM

I like when I brush my teeth before I leave for work. It adds mint flavouring to my coffee and makes me feel fancy (as if having teeth wasn't fancy enough).

Frownland 06-07-2017 04:38 PM

Nothing like a freshly shaved crotch before you head off to work.

OccultHawk 06-07-2017 04:55 PM

I got one of those electric spray deals that shoots water in your mouth with a lot of force. It's exciting when I set it up. I like to use it when I'm stoned. Has anyone here ever got really stoned and started thinking their teeth were crumbling apart? Imagine being on meth and it really was. Meth makes you grind the **** out of your teeth. I used to grind my teeth but I stopped. I like hard toothbrushes. They're actually kind of hard to find. Brush your tongue. Use listerine. **** the "good" bacteria. Use popular toothpaste brands like Crest. Don't use weird hippy herbal **** unless you want your teeth to fall out. Don't go the dentist more than once every 5 years. **** them with all that poking around. Brush up and down not sideways. Take the weekend off unless you're going out. Use xylitol if you drink smoke weed and take drugs that give you cottonmouth. Drink a lot of water. Don't worry about hydroencyphaletis when your brain swells from water.

That is what mouthwash afterwards is for.

Toothbrushing Mistakes You Make and How to Fix Them
What Damages Your Tooth Enamel?

5. You go back and forth.

It’s a common brushing boo-boo -- going along your teeth, left to right. Again, think massage, not scrub.

“Start from the gum, and go up and down,” in little circular, up-and-down motions, says Sangeeta Gajendra, a dentist at the Eastman Institute for Oral Health in Rochester, NY. She says if you do it wrong, it won’t help you.

“In fact, you can do damage,” she says.

6. You forget the gum line.

Bacteria often hang out where your tooth meets your gum. We miss that area a lot.
