I don't agree with that.
I'm not crying for attention, I just don't support what is done to animals.
Seriously, I don't throw tantrums, or "cut", or "cry", or even make scenes and show everybody.

Maybe for some people it's a cry for attention, but definitely not for myself.

I admit the question could have been put better.
What I should have included was that by eating the meat your survival would have been ensured and I suspect the fact that it was'nt, was used skillfully, by some, as a loophole to avoid answering the question (you slippery non meat eaters you).

So come on...what's it to be?
Would you rather starve to death than eat meat?

Ladyluckrules...you chose b). Good for you I admire your principles

Well then I would not eat the chicken.
Because if I was stranded and my only company was the chicken...
We would become friends.
And I do not eat my friends.

That's the dumbest thing iv'e ever heard. If that's true, any lifestyle decision can be a cry for attention. If you flaunt it and make it everybody's business, sure, I suppose it could be, but not everyone who is a vegan is a self-righteous trendy prick.

well that's a very strange perception you have of africa, but i'm used to it because not many people really know what africa is like even some that have lived there, but that's a different story. we don't really kill animals more brutally than animals kill each other, i mean i've never seeen anyone stun a cow you just shoot it to kill! considering the way animals kill each other, they get off pretty lightly....in my opinion from what i've experienced

The chicken's only going to keep you alive a few weeks longer, what's the point of killing an innocent animal for that short period of time? Sure, the chicken's going to die on it's own, but I don't want anything to do with it's death.

But wouldn`t it be more cruel to make it die of starvation over a few weeks than to wring it`s neck & kill it before it knew what was happening in a couple of seconds?

You take an animal thats dying to a vet they won`t stick it in a cage till it dies , they`ll put it out of it`s misery.

Obviously we have different opinions on this, so I shall just leave it at that. I can see your point. But I couldn't bring myself to killing it.

As someone who has been a vegan I would say that's a tricky question to answer. Most people who have been vegan/vegetarian for a long period of time don't have digestive systems that are properly acclimated to eating flesh and often end up getting very sick if they try to.
I think eating meat out of necessity for survival kinda' circumvents the ethics that support a vegan lifestyle. The point is that we live in a gluttonous and wasteful society where ther majority of us consume much more food in general than what is necessary for survival. One of the reasons vegans don't eat animals or their by-products is because its not necessary to deystroy the lives of other living creatures in order to sustain our own. If put into a situation where eating meat becomes necessary for survival then it would be quite understandable that some vegans/vegetarians might choose to do so.
