How are the record stores in Japan? Do they have good selections?

I actually don't know. I've only been in a couple. They were decent but nothing like in the States.

They’re probably closed now but I visited some incredible record stores in Japan. On par with NYC.

Not only Tokyo. Sendai had this classical record shop that was through the roof. An all jazz place in Tokyo (near the embassy), an all punk place somewhere in Tokyo which included endless weird obscure **** and honestly their Tower Records in Shibuya or Shinjuku or wherever was incredible. I also went to giant record shops in Hiroshima and Nagoya. The one in Nagoya had a club upstairs. They had so many places that catered to the obsessively completist Japanese music collector.

I've been into the Shibuya Tower. It's still there. Seven fucking floors of music. Now that place is amazing, if overpriced.
