Is there anything else needed to ensure the disc reads and plays, like other things burned onto the disc or whatever. I ****ed it up before and don't have lots of discs left.

For a movie, just select "Video", browse to where the file is on your PC, click ADD and it's done. Then select "DVD" (or it might be "Burn to DVD" - hold on: yeah it's "To DVD") and click it and off you go. It's really simple. Your disc should ideally be a new one, nothing else on it. I don't know how it works if you have other files on it, though I have burned up to three movies on one DVDR.

NP. If you have any questions just shout: I use this software all the time. Just remember that ****ware: it can be really bad so don't let anything on the computer you don't want.

Having trouble burning MKV videos to disc for some reason with Freemake Video Converter. I've done so successfully in the past. The films played just fine on my PC, but had no audio when I burned them to disc. Lame.

Why are you making videos of Mortal Kombat 5?

Do you mean they won't play on your TV/DVD player? Some brands don't recognise MKV. You tried converting to AVI, or even direct to DVD (use the "Burn to DVD" button)? Always works for me, regardless of format. Might be worth looking at.

I was using the "Burn To DVD" function. Didn't bother converting formats beforehand. They play in the DVD player, they just have no audio. Maybe I just had too many movies/too much data on the disc. The closer I get to adding 4.7 GB's of movies, the poorer the video quality and sometimes problems arise.

Why don't you try not being a leach and actually buying the movies.
