around 3% of its territory is part of Europe (the other 97% is part of Asia). They're also bidding to be an EU member and are a close partner.

Oh yes, the VAT. I've paid that when buying some CDs from England and other parts of Europe. I also like cheap duty free, except that I'd have to be in the States for at least two days in order to take advantage. Stupid laws.
