As far as I can gather, soccer couldn't win over Americans the honest way so they decided to move in scabs.

So Leicester being world news raised the profile of the city, lots of people know of it now because of that whereas they didn't know of it at all before.

I watched Sky News the day after the title was won and I was amazed at how many languages it was being reported in, and how many cities, countries, places that you would think wouldn't give a curse about football.

I'm not pretending TH. It was not huge news over here, which I hasten to point out is actually part of the world. It's a pretty reasonable, based on the replies in this thread from other people outside the British Isles, to conclude that it's maybe not quite as big a story as you perceive it to be.

It's amazing how unmoved they are at the possibility of British news about British sports not being as hyped around the world as the British think. It almost reminds me of American stereotypes who can't imagine a world that doesn't revolve around them.
