There's circumstantial evidence that supports the idea that we've been visited at some point by extraterrestrials, but it's also just as likely that we're like the 3rd or 4th civilization to be born on this planet and there's just no trace left of prior supercivilizations. Wiped off the map to the point where there's nothing left to carbon date.
Yeah. No.

Lucem, you're right, it's silly to talk about what I would or wouldn't do IRL. Glad you brought it up. Maybe you should write an instrumental about it. I recommend a piano paired with a clarinet. With ambient sounds of you hanging from your shower curtain you ****ing failure.

There are numerous probable causes for it, but considering that there are parallels with our current climate situation...well, you saw my last post. It's all speculation, albeit relevant.

OK after reading that I learned that 55 M BCE a lot of carbon was released into the atmosphere. It remains unsolved where the carbon came from and how it was released.

Imo too outlandish to be relevant. Occam's razor and all that.

Lance Armstrong, Ross Perot and King Diamond all live in Plano, so I'm in good company.
