Glass Top Tables vs. Wooden Top Tables

My main argument for glass top tables is that the sound of a beer bottle solidly being placed on a glass top table can not be replicated or replaced. The inherent danger in being drunk around a glass top table is obvious but overshadowed by the benefits.

Discuss.

i used my sectionals ottoman as a table for my laptop when i lived in the midwest. i used a wood desk for the desktop if that matters  now i just veneer wood cheapo from the goodwin as my desk now. its worked great for what it needs to do :)

id vote for wooden over glass

Two tables: Cheap chipboard TV table from Ikea. Sort of an imitation wood thing going on. Might be a really thin slice of actual wood glued on to the chipboard. It's not glamorous, but I like simple, functional furniture. Glass tables don't strike me as a very practical idea.

The other table I have is big enough for 6 chairs. Can be extended for 10 chairs. Some kind of actual wood, but not oak. Kinda dark-ish. Not sure what it is. Inhereted from my long dead grandparents.

Not only am I partially surrounded all day here in the studio with cool looking glass tables,
but I'm also using glass coasters specially made by an artist in Osoyoos to put my drinks on.
I've used this same setup now for about 20 years. Meanwhile, the wooden-topped table in the
front room needs a fresh sanding to get rid of the scratches that have shown up over the years.

The scratches add character. Also I just don't want to pay for a new table.
