No vaccine access for 25% of world until 2022 - report

Colour nobody surprised: the poor lose out again as the rich countries (even my own) grab all the vaccine stock.

A ****load of people under 45 are dying from this ****er

Quote:
Young adults are dying at historic rates. In research published on Wednesday in the Journal of the American Medical Association, we found that among U.S. adults ages 25 to 44, from March through the end of July, there were almost 12,000 more deaths than were expected based on historical norms.
NY Times

It’s going to be raising holy hell all winter, too. Plus, people are still getting ****ed up by long term complications. No telling how long it’s really going to take to get the vaccine rolled out, too. Remember all the cluster****ery with the stimulus checks and unemployment and that was just paper and digital transactions.

We're being asked to give family gatherings a miss over Christmas, and suggested two extra holidays in July of next year. Doubt it'll make any difference. Protect yourself and those important to you, that's all you can do.

Young people are probably dying at a faster rate now because up to a short while ago every snot-nosed teenager thought he or she was immune; this was a virus that affected older people, so they ignored it and just kept doing what they were doing.

Who's laughing now, bitch?

Seriously though: for ****'s sake. If people had just taken this seriously from the beginning (and I'm not only talking about America here, we're just as bad) then a lot less people need to have died. As Robert A. Heinlein once wrote, you live and learn. Or you don't live long.

We’ve learned a lot about human nature. It sucks.

Congressional negotiators closed in Wednesday on a $900 billion COVID-19 relief package that would deliver additional “paycheck protection” subsidies to businesses, $300 per week jobless checks, and $600 or so stimulus payments to most Americans.
Man - how long would you have had to worked to still be collecting unemployment?

I’ll take the $600. Last time I think a lot of homeless people missed out. I wonder what can be done to make sure that doesn’t happen.

I know it’s a ****ty small amount but still. It’s something. Even if it’s just a week with a little comfort that’s a memory at least.

I was willing to take risks for a drug fueled pussy hunt myself but I don’t think I would’ve flagrantly put others at risk to do it. Idk though, I did a lot of driving around blitzed out of my skull - drinking and smoking weed in my car like it was my apartment so you know - thankfully I never hurt anybody: if I’d been young when this happened idk wtf I woulda done

ngl though I was ace at driving wasted

I’m probably more of a hazard driving sober these days
