Many of the business owners I know were more concerned about legal or economical repercussions either way, over actual health hazard. Anyone just being a general pain in the ass on either side of the coin would contribute to those concerns.

I made one mask mistake in a bar. I was supposed to mask up to go to the washroom, and I forgot. The manager was really cool about it. My hockey team was so well treated there that I didn't want to get the dude in trouble.

I'm fortunate to work somewhere that I don't interact with the public. I can't imagine, especially in the beginning of all this when nobody knew what was going on, how scary it must have been for someone who does. Especially if you hadn't gotten sick and didn't know how you might react.

Although sometimes I wish I did work with the public, because a bunch of people I know got free paid days off work when they shut the whole country down and I didn't get **** lol. I worked through the whole thing. My job is considered critical to the national defense supply chain and I had to drive around with a letter in my car in case I was pulled over, in the very beginning.
