My friend in Manila is saying that local cases have emboldened Duterte and that the military is shooting anyone who breaks quarantine, no questions asked. It's expected that dissidents who have survived his reign so far and the homeless are likely to be executed or imprisoned under the guise of maintaining quarantine over the coming days and weeks.

18 months is too long? Not for me if I don’t get evicted and the national guard brings food around. No problemo tbh. Consumerism needs to stop anyway.

So what’s happening. They’ve closed a bunch yuppie eats and drinks that I couldn’t afford anyway. Airlines are ****ed. Good. People aren’t buying gas. Great. What’s the answer they’re throwing at us?
