This isn't nearly as profound a thought as he seems to think. Batlord can roll his eyes at fast food being essential but the truth is all of our lives depend on this system and if business just shut down for an extended period of time you're talking great depression levels of economic impact. This generation honestly has no real conception of how bad **** can get. We've been living in a bubble since around the 1950s.

Considering how much money they happily print for the military and rich people both in the last recession and this one I think it amounts to dicksucking to assume they couldn't have done the same for the working class to keep us at home. I mean they wouldn't need to print all that money for rich folk if they just gave it to poor folk who'd have to pay it to their landlords anyway.
