Marie crosses the Atlantic!
Whoop
I'll have to be on the US East coast in the middle of November for work reasons, but I'm planning to take a bit of time off to go around and see as much of America as I can, New York at the very least. Let me know if you have any tourist recommendations, survival tips, or if you want to meet up and have a beer |
If you plan on visiting Washington (from New York), you'll likely be crossing my backyard as I'm on the outskirts of Baltimore. Not much of a music scene in Baltimore but DC had a thriving one for a while.

whoop whoop have fun! central park in nyc is nice
|
If you go to Times Square, that'll be one more time(s square) than me. :)

Pacific > Atlantic

I'm guessing you're not going all the way down to my neck of the woods but feel free to hit me up if you do.

actually I have to be in North Carolina so....

Well the fetid, malarial swamps of Portsmouth, Virginia are always welcoming to outsiders. Maybe you'll get to see a hurricane! Might actually be after hurricane season but who knows these days.
|
The most important thing you need to know about the US - if you wander out in the woods, do it with friends...and watch out for Bigfoot...

And it's rude to enter someone's house wearing a hat and not a gun.

Congratulations Marie! A business trip can be exciting and it's also an indication of how you are regarded in your job.
I remember working in a London office once, and some of my colleagues were being sent to Iraq and Saudi Arabia to coordinate construction projects. And me? I was sent to Birmingham and Stratford-on-Avon. :( If you want some tips about life in New York, I recommend you watch Midnight Cowboy and Taxi Driver if you haven't seen them yet. That way you'll know what to expect ;): |
Actually, Marie, New Yorkers are quite nice. They do have a blunt way of saying things when they think they've been crossed (getting cut off in traffic, somebody doing something stupid, etc). They don't mess around but you have to love them for their brutal honesty. They are some of the most real people I know.
|
I don't know any real people. :(

I was last in New York in 2000, before 9/11. I was working inventory with a local crew from Brooklyn. The basic attitude then was don't let anyone try to intimidate you. I didn't really see it as a stereotype. I just really enjoyed working with that bunch.
|
That same part of Brooklyn is now probably full of trust fund kids and handlebar mustaches
|
Yeah damn globalist coastal elites.
|
Yawn
Gentrification is an anti Semitic buzzword apparently |
My jokes only work on retards and women anyway.
|
You don't have to present them as 2 distinct groups just to be PC
|
One group I'm trying to have sex with, the other are women.
|
lol
Who is that in your avy BTW? It looks like a transgender Ash from Pokemon. |
Misato Katsuragi from Neon Genesis Evangelion. She's the best cause she's a drunk.
|
Sorry to cut in here, fellas.
Marie, what line of work brings you to NC? Tobacco? And NYC is awesome. Disregard the nonsense. |

What part of NC you going to, Marie? |
NYC Night-time Vibes
NYC Day-time Vibes |
Honestly though it's probably still the best city in this country I'm just saying it's not the same gritty cesspool it used to be.

Charlotte is nice. When I was a kid, we would spend Christmases with my Mom's ex's family. His mother was in Morehead City on the coast and he had a sister with kids my age in Raleigh. We would have a blast. Anyway, NC is a beautiful state; take some pinecones back with you.
|
Nice. I imagined NC to be dull but I may like it. In any case, just the experience of being in the US will be interesting
|
So are you travelling the US by plane? Train? Renting a car?
|
Check your discord pms dude
|
The good people of Charlotte certainly need more physics. :)
Safe travels, and if you happen to come though Chicago, make sure you're packin heat. |

|
Charlotte is nice but yeah pretty dull. It's about an hour south of where I live which is even more dull.
