Um, sci-fi comedy? It's the second part of the Hitchhiker's guide to the galaxy "trilogy" of 5 books. I'm sure you've heard of the film...or not.

The original unedited scrolls of 'On the Road' (JK originally typed it all out on one continuous piece of paper?) are on display in Birmingham right now (it's on permanent world tour apparently) and I had a chance to go the day before last but couldn't scrape together the funds

Erm... why can't I get to the last page? I know it's there! Anyways...

The Option Reader #1 - We Rock So You Don't Have To. It's a collection of articles from the Option spanning the timeline of real alternative rock. It's got a bunch of bands ranging from Nirvana to Patti Smith to Jesus & Mary Chain to Pavement. A definite must read for anyone that likes that music, but I'm not really sure where you might be able to find it. I couldn't even find the cover online... It's great so far though. I'm also working my way through Paradise Lost, I've never read it before and it's been holding my attention.

I just finished The Rock Pillow by Lynne Folkard, an account of her years as a homeless schizophrenic. The writing is terrible, but it's quite harrowing nonetheless.

Started on Budding Prospects by T.C Boyle. It's okay so far, I thought it was a comedy but that isn't really his focus.
