By the way, if anyone likes Fantasy, check out Steven Erikson's Tales of the Malazan Book of the Fallen.

The greatest fantasy series ever made. The most epic series ever made, and I'm not lying either, this guy makes Tolstoy looks thin in terms of overarching story lines.

Number the stars by Lawry, it's my kids she read it and after a discussion on wwII and the holocaust, she asked me to read it also, it's about a the struggle that took place in Holland when the King surrendered and sunk his own fleet to keep it out of enemy hands, the occupation as seen through the eyes of a christian girl surrounded by jews who are her friends, i've just started it today, be finished by, mon. it's a school book and not very long, then it's on to the hot kid by elmore leonard, i've read all the eragon books and i'm not ashamed to admit it, i like paolini. i've never read a harry potter book, and i know no yeates,
the only edgar allen poe i've read is the raven and i think the novels of susan sontag are self indulgent bul**hit.( to quote crash davis in bull durham. )

The Autobiography of Joseph Stalin: A Novel
Richard Lourie

I'm doing a research paper on the human monster (I use this phrase because... everyone sees him as a cold-hearted mass-murderer. Which he was, inexcusably. But he was also a severely abused child raised by a raging alcoholic and a mother who had to pay the bills by whoring herself out to the small town of Georgia [Georgia in Russia] where everyone knew everyone and her son got the brunt of her promiscuity in the schoolyard. His childhood was horrible - he had a withered left arm, a scarred face from surviving small pox, it's argued in present day that he had shown signs of depression and schitzophrenia. He married a schitzophrenic who killed herself and drove him nuts in the process. He also loved his daughter to ****. There are human qualities to this man that everyone ignores. It'll be a hella offensive research paper.)... and I was supposed to be buying a book that was non-fiction, but when I saw this, I could not resist. The first line in it is, "Leon Trotsky is trying to kill me!" Which is, not only extremely comical, but extremely ironic given... we all know what happened in Mexico.
