awesome wordsmith. it is unusual to see Soviet-era Russians writing completely western stories.

It's easier to be succinct when you're only summarising the first couple of chapters, haha.

And I'm not going to start this until I got through Karamazov, but I had to spend a birthday book voucher before it expired so I took a chance on..

For some reason Russian prose translates very beautifully into English. Despite its subject matter, Lolita is a wonderfully well written book and a great read.

One of the best books I've read. His knowledge and use of English puts many an English writer to shame.

as adidasss already stated, it was originally written in English and translated to Russian thereafter.

raiding my father's miniscule library is getting a bit pedantic...considering it's composed of self-help books and 174 702 Herman Hesse novels (ugh).
