That's exactly why the movie was so long....and subsequently so freaking horrible.

The mini series wasn't terrible because of the length, it was the bad writing. Plus, It is a very hard book to adapt due to it's structure

I didn't mind the first half, actually. It was the second half that made it so incredibly terrible. So, I stand by my belief that if they had tried to just condense it a bit it could have actually been good.

3 hour horror films just won't do. After a while, the audience gets used to the "horror" and is no longer scared.

The paperback copy I have has 1090 pages of tiny letters. It's worth it though, really.

Under the Dome was a great read too. Straight through from beginning to end really.
