Irving can sometime start off slow but he's always a great read. I think you'll especially like this one though. I always recommend people to start off with A Widow for One Year by Irving. The man's a genius though, he's written so many amazing books with probably only one weak one.

I particularly loved Garp though, Jenny Fields reminded me of myself for some reason, but Roberta Muldoon is by far the best character. I won't say anymore in case you haven't reached that part yet though, lol

After recommendations from here, I've FINALLY moved onto this! 220 pages in and only now are the dots slowly connecting. Still not sure on which way this is heading, but Tom's subtle humor and sneaky remarks are thus far the highlights. (of course, there's the story, but it's always after a lengthy argument that the best stuff arrives)

I actually liked Fierce Invalids more as this can slow down drastically at times.

I finished this last Thursday:

and then decided to read this:

Which I finished in the same day (about 4 hours I think) and then turned straight onto this:

of which I am around a third through.

I also read a few Chapters of this a day later:

I get spurts of wanting to read constantly.

Probably the only vampire book worth reading. It is incredible.

I have very little knowledge on Tom's background but I'm beginning to think that this man must have done a lot of soul searching, experimenting, traveling and talking to strangers throughout his life! Although these are works of fiction (or are they?

Only read two books, but recurring elements seems to be: Drugs, altered state, perception of reality, Science, voodoo/shamanism, ALWAYS some sort of reference to eastern religions/philosophy, sneaky comments on christianity (lol), literature/history (of all forms...American, English as well as other languages) and of course, the central theme is built upon some sort of paradox or the other!

Love his 'all over the place' kind of approach - Eclectic is the word I think I'm looking for. And his knowledge about the human brain might put many psychologist to shame!

Yes, he is, in a nutshell... well, he's Me! I think that's why I love him so much.

Of Human Bondage by W. Somerset Maugham. This is a lot longer than most things I like to read on a computer, my eyes feel like they're going to shrivel up and fall out of my skull.
