"Four to Score" by Janet Evanovich. I never thought I would get into these books but I am really getting into them. Not bad if you like a bounty hunter crime fighting chicky book every now and then. If you liked Charlaine Harris's books, you probably will like these...missing the vampires and such but same style of writing.

I thought Marvel was the go-to publisher for too many superheroes in a story.

nah, DC started it first with Crisis on Infinite Earths

most Marvel multi-title crossovers don't have that many superheroes, Civil War only really involved The Avengers, and Siege were people connected to Thor

the Marvel answer to Crisis, Secret Wars had less than 50 superheroes

Marvel was constantly publishing extended battle royales with large numbers of superheroes long before Crisis on Infinite Earths.

Hell I didn't know you guys were Marvel fans In 2009 I started reading nearly all of the main Marvels titles from the early to mids 60s onwards and starting off with the oldest titles such as Fantastic Four and Thor etc, two years later and I'm upto the late 70s.

At this rate given the huge title expansion that Marvel underwent in the 80s and 90s, I should be upto date in around 10 years time

I'm actually more of a DC fan, most comics in my collection are of Batman, Superman, the Justice League and the Doom Patrol

i have no bias against Marvel, though, but i only started reading in the 80s, only caught up with the early stuff vide reprints like Marvel Age and Marvel Tales (Spiderman)

I'm not a huge Marvel fan. I mainly read DC, because I feel like they're grittier. BUT with that said, I did enjoy the Dark Tower Marvel comics.

I'm actually reading a DC graphic novel right now: The Dark Knight Returns.

it's more of a "character" thing for me, always thought Bats, Supes, Green Lantern and the Flash and also Negative Man are more interesting than the Marvel stable, cept for maybe Wolverine and The Hulk

My oldest friend is an absolute comic nut and has literally a whole room dedicated to Marvel and DC comics storage, he keeps most of the best comics safe in see through plastic bags, I'm sure you know the type and he swears by Marvel and up until around the late 80s and early 90s DC just couldn't compete with Marvel. From what I've read of both uptil the late 70s, Marvel is in a different league quality wise, even though I do like a lot of the really old Batman stuff from the 30s and 40s.

Anybody who hasn't read stuff by Marvel in the 60s and 70s should do so, this really is the Golden Age of Marvel.
