I haven't logged on to that site (or read a novel) in many months but here's what I'm reading right now:

Blood Meridian by Cormac McCarthy

Simple, beautiful, eloquent, and brutal just like I like it.

Has anyone read this? It sorta sounds like I'd like it though I'm sure a slightly older audience (mid-30's?) would probably relate better. Its about youth subcultures in New England in the 1980's.

My account must be bugged because I still can't join this group, even though it says you've accepted me.

Lately, this

I'm only up to chapter three, so I expect things to pick up shortly, but I've been skipping over quite a lot that I've already learned from high school biology. But I think that speaks more about Dawkins' target audience (dumbass Americans, that is. He makes it quite clear that a large impetus for this book was the gallup survey in 2008 which indicated that 40% of Ameicans don't believe in evolution) than the book itself.

Should be fixed now.

I'm re-reading this

Paedantic Basterd 12-13-2011 02:38 PM

Diary gets a lot of flack, but it's probably my favourite Palahniuk novel.

Sansa Stark 12-13-2011 02:39 PM

I quite like it, however Invisible Monsters will always be my favourite. Damned was pretty good though, too.

Paedantic Basterd 12-13-2011 02:41 PM

Invisible Monsters challenges Diary for favourite. Haven't read Damned, Tell-All, or Pygmy yet. I've been slacking.

Just got Terry Pratchetts Monstrous Regiment. I've only a few left to read from the discworld series, Some of them have proved to be very elusive. If I had to pick a favouite it would be The Last Continent.
