Does anyone know if the kindle has any good free books? I've borrowed one and have nothing to read.

You can read some good public domain literature, anything over...one hundred I think?...years old is free. There is a lot of great classic lit out there if you're willing to find it.

Pretty much this, old material will be free, and sometimes you will find certain books that aren't quite old enough to be public domain, but pretty damn old will be available for a few bucks. Also you can sometimes find young writers' work pretty cheap too, but there's no telling if it will be good or not. Then of course you can always pirate it, the file format you want to be looking for if you choose this route is .MOBI or .PDF.

It's not Wuthering Heights or The Scarlet Letter so I'd say you're already ahead of most people.

He's fantastic, very clever and well-spoken man. I've watched that lecture several times in hopes that it will turn me into a brilliant astrophysicist.

A Thousand Splendid Suns wasn't as good at Kite Runner, but like Pete said, as far as school reading goes it really could be worse. And Geraldine Brooks is great. It's more a matter of whether you're interested in the topic(s), I think.

Started this. I've heard very, very mixed reviews, but I got it for cheap, so I'll give it a go. Not sure what I think about the writing style yet.

Also reading through the Ranma 1/2 graphic novels. They're my brother's, but he's letting me borrow them. Silly fun!
