Anybody ever successfully make it through Gravitys Rainbow by pynchon? I failed miserably. I picture Dali to be like that.

About 70 pages left in The Fellowship of the Ring, should be done by the end of the week. Tell you what, I won't be reading the rest of the trilogy in a long time, heavy stuff.

I've got the trilogy in one giant volume. It can be kind of intimidating reading what looks like an encyclopedia.

We just started with reading circles in English class, and my group got Dead Fathers Club. We have five weeks to read it. I'm almost thirty pages in, and I really dig it so far. It's written to resemble the narrative style of a 11-year old, reminding me a little bit of The Curious Incident of the Dog in the Night-Time (which I should probably read instead of letting it gather dust in my bookshelf).

"77 Shadow Street" by D. Koontz. Seems to be a pretty good one though not really profound. However, this is just what I was looking for, since slaving away at the job has got me somewhat frazzled and my brains couldn't exploit Tolstoi's resources or Cervantes'. Before Koontz I read "The Razor's Edge". Supreme; S. Maugham's oeuvre is just beyond amazing.
