Went over this in my fairy tale class.. I'm still waiting for my copy to come in the mail. It's a cool combination of Snow White and Sleeping Beauty. Beautiful art and it's written by Neil Gaiman who is apparently an amazing author, I've only read Neverwhere by him.

Check out American Gods by him. Won the Hugo and Nebulla awards the year it came out. Less than 2 dozen novels have won both awards so it's kinda a big deal.

Hey I just started reading American Gods, seems like a winner so far.

Got a signed copy on Saturday. I love Dan Simmons.

Let me know how that is. Was a huge fan of Simmons early on but he started losing steam for me a bit later on.

Yeah, I like the horror and sci fi stuff better. The historical fiction like this one can be a bit dry. I think he just likes the challenge. At the signing he said he has another idea for a horror book so I'm hopeful. Seemed like a very nice guy.

This one was out of print forever. Looks like it's back. Ever read it? If not I highly recommend it. Such an amazing story just simply about life and growing up/older.

I have not read this one but definitely will. Thanks for the suggestion.

Storm Front by Jim Butcher

I have been meaning to read this series ever since I saw that abomination on the Sci-Fi channel a few years back. A number of people I know have read it and all said it was a good read. I kind of wish I had done that before the whole neckbeard/mra/OKCupid thing because Harry Dresden kind of reeks of it all. There's even a passage early on where he talks about treating women like women and not smaller weaker men with tits. I dunno, it kind of smells of author insert/ wish fulfillment character that I don't like which is a shame because I do enjoy the idea of contemporary fantasy and magus' running around, it reminds me of Mage: The Awakening so I think I'll finish this book but unless Harry's personality shifts and he starts having some actual flaws I will probably leave this series after the novel ends.
