Terry Pratchett: The Colour of Magic (1983)

Absolutely loved them and wanted to start the whole series from the beginning for ages. Now's a better time than any I guess. |

Les Miserables is a great great book, but god can Hugo turn off the reader sometimes with long, rambling accounts of the history of the Battle of Waterloo and the way convents are set up. I have paged through something like twenty chapters and it hasn't impacted, so far as I can see, on the main storyline at all, so why the hell did he do it? Also, **** trying to pronounce all these French names and double **** all the Latin phrases he uses. Great story though: I'm glad I never saw the musical or the film so this is all totally new to me. |

I'm trying to read The Way of Kings by Brandon Sanderson because it's been too long since I've started a new fantasy series, but it's too damn cold in my house and I don't have any long-sleeve shirts to wear in bed where I do all my reading. Also plan on finishing rereading The Name of the Wind, which is just the best ****ing book.
